Long-time bassist for multi-platinum rockers Quiet Riot, Chuck Wright, proudly presents the release of the first single from his new solo album. Wright has also worked alongside such rock music luminaries as Alice Cooper, Greg Allman, Ted Nugent, various members of Guns N’ Roses and Kiss to name a few, and now embarks on his first-ever solo excursion.
The first single is a hard-rocking, intense interpretation of Björk’s 1995 hit “Army of Me” and is accompanied by a video that represents Wright’s exploration into disorder and parallels with the recent chaotic state of world affairs. The visuals include a 3D animation of an “army” of Ruth Bader Ginsburgs, the late Supreme Court Justice, feminist icon, and steadfast advocate for women’s rights and gender equality. “I chose to recognize the late Justice Ginsburg in this video as she was such a formidable presence on and off the bench. She challenged the status quo knocking down legal obstacles to women’s equality and inspired an army of believers.”
The track “Army Of Me” features several of Wright’s musical peers including the late Pat Torpey (Mr. Big) on drums, guitarist Lanny Cordola (House of Lords), and Sven Martin (Jonathan Davis Band) on keyboards along with songstress Whitney Tai, the recent “Best Vocalist” winner at The Intercontinental Music Awards.
The full-length album from Chuck Wright’s Sheltering Sky, coming in 2022, features over 30 guest performers including members of Mr. Big, Skid Row, Tesla, Dream Theater, Great White, Asia, Jefferson Starship, acclaimed solo artists Allen Hinds, Toshi Yanagi, and many others. Wright is finally stepping out on his own with a wide range of genres, from Jazz Fusion, Prog, Funk to in-your-face Hard Rock, which was in itself one of the things that led him to want to forge his own way and create this unique collection of songs within his “Sheltering Sky” project.

Born into a blood line of drummers, Steve Brown was destined to rock! His Father Mick Brown Sr. was a drummer. His older brother “Wild” Mick Brown is a drummer. And just like tradition, Steve started his journey on the drum kit at the early age of 12. Not only was he a drummer in the making, he also decided to pick up the trumpet. This made him a “musical drummer” from the start.
As a youngster, he witnessed his older brother”Wild”Mick Brown(Dokken, Ted Nugent) rise to rock and roll royalty. Steve would attend his brother’s local concerts, gained inspiration, and began his storied journey as a drummer. “ I saw Mick play at the Cow Palace in San Francisco on New Years Eve. I met Bill Graham that night. After that, I knew what I wanted to do.” Steve’s first drum kit was purchased in short order. After which, followed a string of high school garage bands. A break came at age 17.
While still in high school, Steve met up with local heavyweights Mark Ross, and John Nymann, (of Y&T, 415, and Eric Martin Band) Mark Ross asked Steve to play in an all-star band, backing up the San Francisco “Burlesque Queen” Carol Doda. Steve spent the next ten years honing his recording skills & dynamic-solid drum style with various bands/artists throughout Northern California.
In 1999, the band Oleander, who had Billboard & Radio success, approached Steve to perform on the NBC show “Gravity Games”, From that point on, Steve became their official drummer. They promptly got to work touring and recording full-length records. At the same time, Steve continued recording & performing with various artists and producers.
As a studio drummer, Steve Brown has recorded drum tracks for the likes of : Pat Olguin(Black Eyed Peas, Papa Roach, Cake, Wyclef Jean)–Michael Rosen(Santana, Joe Satriani, Papa Roach, Rancid,Eddie Money)_ -Brian Wheat(Tesla, Soulmotor)-Joe Johnston(Cake, Deftones, Paramour)-Rich Mouser (Spock’s Beard, Oleander)-Mark Needham (Chris Isaak, Cake, The Killers, and My Chemical Romance).
In 2010, Brown finished drum tracks on the upcoming Oleander release entitled, “Something Beautiful”. Steve Brown also became the national touring drummer for the Ronnie Montrose Band (2010-2012). Steve had the honor of being the last drummer that Ronnie Montrose would have. Upon his passing. Ronnie himself once quoted, “Steve is the Keith Moon to my Pete Townshend”….Steve Brown is best known for being the touring/recording drummer for Ronnie Montrose, but has taken the Fall of 2021 by storm, touring internationally playing drums for hard rock phenoms Tesla.

“Ï’ve been playing and singing for 50 years now, writing and performing my own material from early on. After playing guitar for a couple years, my brother invited me to join his band Mile Hi. After he left the band we carried for 4 years and then Eric Martin (Mr. Big) joined us. 6 years of playing with Eric was so great! Learned so much more about writing recording and singing etc. Released one album on Electra records, Eric Martin Band, Sucker For A Pretty Face (1983) we broke up in 1984 after being dropped from Electra. They were pushing Howard Jones and Motley Crew at the time. We just didn’t fit there roster.
I was asked to join up with my good friends Y&T as a side touring member in 1984 to tour for the new album In Rock We Trust Played some keyboards and sang background vocals. I even got to play drums a bit! I was with them around 5 years.
In 2003 after the band had been broken up for many years, they reformed and I got the rhythm guitar position after Joey Alves and Stef Burns declined. Fast forward to now and I am releasing my first solo album: Made In America“.

A U.S. Marine from rural Crystal Hill, Virginia, Stacey Lamont Sydnor appeared to be fascinated by rhythm from the time he could use his hands to beat on his mother’s pots and pans. At the age of eleven, his grandmother bought him his first “gold sparkle” snare drum and he’s never stopped playing since.
Early on, he was influenced by the sounds of Traditional (Quartet) Gospel and his father’s love of old school soul and R&B (Johnny Taylor, James Brown, Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes). While in elementary school, he joined the band, became classically trained, and learned to appreciate Big Band Jazz.
Under the tutelage of mentor, Damon Brown (www.batclefmusic.com), he went on to win multiple awards around the state of Virginia and became well known, becoming exceptionally popular with local Gospel Quartet groups in Southern Virginia and North Carolina. He also excelled in his new found love of Jazz, Theatre and Southern Rock.
He started touring professionally at the age of fifteen with Gospel artists, the Heavenly Five and the Pilgrim Jubilees of Chicago. He also performed as a drummer/percussionist for a variety of musicals to include: “Anything Goes, “Cowboys” and “Westside Story”. From there he went on to perform in the US Marine Corps Band, attaining the position of Principal Percussionist in a little under two years. While in the Marine Corps, he teamed up with fellow marine, Mike Corrado to form The Mike Corrado Band (www.mikecorrado.com). The band toured for eleven years now and has sold over 100,000 albums independently.
His resumé runs like a Who’s Who of, well, every possible genre of music.
He’s performed with:
Pop/Country/Rock Stars: Seal, Trisha Yearwood, Daughtry, Starship, Hillary Duff, Robbie Williams, Michelle Williams (Destiny’s Child), Taylor Dayne, Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray), Bobby Brown, The Rembrandts, and Daniel Powter & Macy Gray.
Hip Hop artists Sean “Diddy” Combs, Missy Elliot, Timbaland, Flo Rida, Busta Rhymes and Ice Cube.
Motown/Funk/Soul Legends: The Jacksons, Earth Wind & Fire, George Clinton, Sly Stone, The Temptations, Heatwave, Bloodstone, Malo, The Delphonics, The Floaters, The Deele, Billy Paul, Percy Sledge, Peaches & Herb, The Intruders, the S.O.S. Band and Mandrill.
Gospel Recording Artists: Deitrick Haddon, Donnie McClurkin, Fred Hammond, Ann Nesby, Damita Haddon, Tammi Haddon, The Soul Seekers and Yolanda Adams while serving in the music ministry of Bishop Noel Jones.
Smooth Jazz Artists: Jonathan Butler, Keiko Matsui, The Late George Duke, Marcus Johnson, Althea Rene, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Mike Phillips and the late Wayman Tisdale.
He is currently still working with The Jacksons & Philip Bailey of Earth Wind & Fire as well as a member of The Myron McKinley Trio!

He has been nominated three times for the Blues Music Award for Song Of The Year, winning in 2018 for Walk A Mile In My Blues from The Beautiful Lowdown. In total, he has won nine Blues Music Awards, including the B.B. King Entertainer Of The Year. DownBeat calls his songwriting skills “an impressive gift.” Billboard says Salgado’s music is “inspired and powerful.” Now, after 40 years of recording, performing, touring and songwriting, Salgado is back with Damage Control, his first full band album in four years, and it’s packed with fresh, original material.
With Damage Control, Salgado has created what he calls “a rock ’n’ roll record with lyrics that hit.” The 13 songs—12 originals and a raucous cover of Larry Williams’ Slow Down (famously covered by The Beatles)—will surprise and delight longtime Salgado fans. Salgado has crafted a soul-searching, street-smart collection of vividly detailed, instantly memorable songs. From the defiant opener The Longer That I Live to the bouncy New Orleans crime story You’re Going To Miss My Sorry Ass to the foot-tapping history lesson of Hail Mighty Caesar to the plaintive honesty of Always Say I Love You, Salgado’s vocals weave, bob and soar, at times jabbing with nuance, and then striking with unlimited power. Of the title track, he says, “Life is all about damage control…trouble and then some. It’s about dealing with what gets thrown at you and saying, ‘I ain’t finished yet.’”
Damage Control was produced by Salgado and recorded in three studios with three different groups of musicians, featuring some of the very best players in the business. At Nashville, Tennessee’s Rock House Recording, top notch support included guitarist George Marinelli (Bonnie Raitt), keyboardist Kevin McKendree (Brian Setzer, Delbert McClinton, Tinsley Ellis), singer Wendy Moton (Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton) and special guest Cajun accordionist and vocalist Wayne Toups. At Studio City, California’s Ultratone Studios, guitarist/ bassist Johnny Lee Schell (Otis Rush, B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt), pianists Mike Finnigan (Jimi Hendrix, Paul Simon) and Jim Pugh (B.B. King, Etta James, Robert Cray), drummer Tony Braunagel (B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt) brought the goods. And at Greaseland in San Jose, California, guitarist/bassist Kid Andersen (Rick Estrin, Charlie Musselwhite), bassist Jerry Jemmott (B.B. King, Aretha Franklin) and drummer Kevin Hays (Robert Cray) added their fuel to the fire.
For all of his successes, Salgado is no stranger to adversity. During his career, he has overcome multiple health challenges, battling back from liver cancer in 2006 and lung cancer in 2008 and 2012. In March 2017 he underwent quadruple bypass surgery. He’s not only come back stronger, he’s become one of the genre’s most prolific songwriters, going from writing a few songs per album to writing full albums of original songs. In 2016, many critics declared The Beautiful Lowdown—featuring 11 original songs—as the best of his career. According to Salgado, Damage Control is even better. He’s excited to bring his new songs to the stage, where the crowd fires him up even more. “I want people to relate to the songs,” he says. “You can dance to it but the words have to carry the weight. I know if a song hits me, it’ll hit others just as hard.” On Damage Control, the hard-hitting songs just keep on coming.
