Zia McCabe is a keyboard player, percussionist and bass guitarist, and member of American alternative rock band The Dandy Warhols. She is also a solo DJ (DJ Rescue), and part of a six-piece country music band called Brush Prairie. She graduated from Battle Ground High School in Battle Ground, Washington in 1993. In 1995, with hardly any prior musical experience, Zia joined The Dandy Warhols.

Fast-forward to today, her tenure with the Dandys has been sprinkled with advocacy (last time I saw Zia, she was leading Bernie Sanders onstage at Portland’s Moda Center for the 2016 Presidential Campaign), a burgeoning real estate career, multiple original projects & raising chickens!

When you see a legendary band like Starship, it’s tough not to focus on Mickey Thomas’ inimitable vocal range, or the engaging presence of female lead Stephanie Calvert… until you see what an entertainer Jeff Adams is. On his own, Jeff fronts a stellar band in Memphis, Tennessee, and when he’s onstage with Starship, it’s remarkable to hear this guy play bass, sing his ass off, and bring a stage presence that would leave insecure lead singers envious.

I really enjoy Jeff’s energy offstage, too. We’ve been all over the world together, and this was a fun share “backstage”.

Stella Parton was branded a Maverick in 1975 when she launched her very own record label – Soul, Country and Blues S.C.A.B Records before going on to write, produce, & release her chart topping debut album “I Want to Hold You (In My Dreams Tonight)”. Since that time Stella has gone on to release 39 albums, 32 chart singles, become an accomplished actress and author with 3 cookbooks, an inspirational memoir ‘Tell it Sister, Tell it’ and 4 starring roles in Broadway touring musicals; Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Pump Boys & Dinettes & Gentleman Prefer Blondes.

ALL ACCESS LIVE with DARBY MILLS (Darby Mills Project, Headpins)

Darby Mills began singing back-up vocals for Canadian bands in the late 1970s, most notably the British Columbia-based band Steelback.

After signing on with the Headpins in 1981, the group began a three-album run at the top of the Canadian charts. Their debut album “Turn It Loud”, quickly went platinum and topped the charts for six weeks. It spawned the hit single “Don’t It Make Ya Feel”. Their follow-up, “Line of Fire”, produced the hits “Celebration” and “Just One More Time”. The Headpins toured Europe and North America while opening for bands such as KISS, Whitesnake, ZZ Top and Aerosmith, among others.

Darby released her debut solo LP, Never Look Back, backed by the Unsung Heroes. She returned to re-form the Headpins with Bernie Aubin and Ab Bryant a year or so later, without guitarist Brian MacLeod. In 2005, Mills was nominated for a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame.
