The infectious grooves and million-dollar smile of drummer Dave Kendall has graced more stages in the Pacific Northwest than almost anyone.

Dave’ll bring that smile and brilliant conversation to All Access Live to discuss the earliest metal days and his beloved band “Gargoyle”, to today’s contemporary country group “Night Rose”.

For more than a decade, the Jeremy Wilson Foundation 501(c)3 (JWF) has been dedicated to improving the overall well-being of local musicians and their families during times of medical crisis.

Singer-songwriter Jeremy Wilson, a lifelong working musician whose bands include the Dharma Bums and Pilot, was inspired to launch the JWF in June 2010 after being diagnosed with a serious congenital heart condition called Wolff-Parkinson-White. This experience quickly exposed the harsh reality of navigating the healthcare system as an artist and independent contractor, and the need for better access to healthcare in the musical community.

Jeremy was also struck by the incredible outpouring of goodwill and support he received from the friends, fans and family that helped him through four heart surgeries. Jeremy formed the JWF in hopes of replicating this model: uniting fellow musicians and music lovers to help provide critical support to individual musicians and their families when medical crises occur.

This resulted in the JWF’s Musicians’ Emergency Healthcare Program (MEHP), which has provided both financial assistance for qualified recipients and critical consultative support through the JWF volunteer social services team. This social services component, led by a Licensed Master Social Worker, enables JWF to connect those we serve with additional local, state, or federal aid and help them navigate the complex healthcare system. This program has recently been re-launched as the Musician Health & Services Program, allowing us to expand our grants and services under a single holistic point-of-entry and ultimately help more people access the support they need more quickly.

Jeremy and I will discuss his bands, commitment to assisting his musical community, and ways that he sees us all making a difference.

Ramble On is Portland, Oregon’s most popular Led Zeppelin tribute.

Lead singer Rich Ray nailed the high tenor vocals made famous by Robert Plant, with all the power and soul one would expect from seeing Led Zeppelin their prime.

Virtuoso axe man Steve Adams plays the part of Jimmy Page to perfection..complete with the double-neck guitars, violin bows, and ripping solos.

Chael Emmett was heroic on bass and keys, a la John Paul Jones, while drummer Merrill Hale anchored the rhythm section with master chops and an authentic set of Ludwig Vistalites to boot.

As one of the most remarkable bands honoring perhaps the greatest rock & roll band on the planet, Ramble On have done just that (rambled on), but we are going to catch up with the guys on their current situations, funny stories from those days of tribute, and other shenanigans. Come join us!

Joel’s career started in 1977 when he wrote and produced a song that became a top five record in Canada and Europe. Following this major break, Mr. Wertman made the move to Los Angeles where he joined Mushroom Records as a staff producer and writer. There he recorded and remixed for artists including Heart, Doucette and Ian Matthews. Mr. Wertman got his first taste for television as a writer with Hart to Hart and Taxi and a songwriter/producer for Happy Days and Joanie Loves Chachi.

Later in his career, Mr. Wertman held executive roles with multiple record labels including president of Eureka/EMI, Eureka/BMG, Eureka Records and Sire/Discovery Records. During his tenure, Mr. Wertman was instrumental in the careers of many artists including The Goo Goo Dolls, Heart, KISS, No Doubt, Bush, Young MC, and Tiffany, among others, officials said.

Additionally, Mr. Wertman develops and produces television programming for children.

Today, Wertman is far from Hollywood but very much involved in a media company with its hand in music and a focus on a visual future fueled by 5G just as much as ATSC 3.0.

Wertman is the President of Reach High Media Group, a Chattanooga, Tenn.-based company that is the successor to Luken Communications.

Rock journalist and local icon SP Clarke and I rap about the rich musical history of the Pacific Northwest, LONG before Portlandia brought snickers from afar about the beloved Rose City. We dig deep looking at La Bamba Club, Starry Night, Satyricon, X-Ray Cafe and other venues, as well as a look at the influences of artists like Billy Rancher and The Kingsmen.

Happy Cinco de Mayo! I’ll be sharing laughs w/ Daria Eliuk remotely from our rehearsal with A Flock of Seagulls in San Diego!

One of Portland, Oregon’s most recognizable voices, Daria has been a mainstay in the Portland radio and TV environment for nearly 3 decades. As an aspiring rock star, I was honored to appear on her KNRK radio program in the mid-90s. She’s done an exhaustive list of media-related activities beyond radio, though…

One of Eiluk’s signature features was “Daria’s Local Entertainment Guide,” which she wrote herself. The daily segment mixed information about Portland area events and attractions with reminiscences from her youth and college days in addition to trivia and historical anecdotes. Material from the Entertainment Guide was later released on compact disc with proceeds going to the Dove Lewis Animal Hospital.

In 2016, Eliuk left her show at KRSK to return to KNRK to co-host Alternative Afternoons with Gustav and Daria. In August 2017, the station’s parent company, Entercom, opted not to renew her contract. She launched the podcast Radio Free Daria in October 2018 and continues to write fiction and appear at Portland area events.

I don’t know very many people with the sharp wit and gift of storytelling that Daria possesses, and I can’t wait to share that with you!
