Late 1980’s Sunset Strip was a time like no other. While a few of the fortunate bands that played that scene made their way to millions of dollars and life-changing record deals, most bands slugged it out in clubs, traversed America and abroad in vans, and lived off of tuna sandwiches and fan-supported couches. Such was the case for Love/Hate, one of my favorite bands of the Headbanger’s Ball era of MTV’s glory days. Formed by guitarist/songwriter/engineer Jon E. Love, Love/Hate hailed as one of Hollywood’s fan favorites with hits like “Black Out in the Red Room” and “Why Do You Think They Call it Dope?”.
Decades later, Jon E. Love looks back at the glory days and grueling battles of the music biz, his own project “Jon E. Love and the Haters”, and other industry engagements with pop icon Thomas Dolby. Join us for a fun chat on Tuesday Feb 28 at 5pm Pacific.
